Palestine

Having been inspired by recent photos I have come across on WordPress, I felt compelled to share my own. The view from my accommodation in Beit Sahour, Palestine, while I was in the West Bank carrying out research over the summer.

The landscape always seems so atmospheric to me.

I completely agree with you.. this is very atmospheric. It seems like a far away land from a totally different period of history. The irony is, that it’s not. It’s all happening now. Thanks for sharing this (makes a change from flowers and sunsets!! 😉 )

Having stayed in Beit Sahour myself with my wife, staying with a Christian family – there are five churches in this predominantly Christian village, and only one mosque – I have happy memories of picking olives in the surrounding countryside, under guns of the settlers and their IDSF protectors. Beit Sahour was the home of the shepherds who heard the angel song of Tidings of Comfort and Joy on Christmas Eve, but their field has now been turned into an Israeli carpark.

You articulate well the issues given society’s insincere assent. And how difficult is it to be pro-Palestinian? Thanks for following. I return the comiment.
